Rose Electra Harris is a London-based artist working predominantly as a printmaker, mostly in etching and screen-printing. She completed her BA Hons in Printmaking at Brighton University in 2015. She now works between her studio at home, Slaughterhaus Print Studio in Stockwell and Print Club London in Hackney.
In her work she explores the interior, creating dreamlike, surreal and vibrant interpretations of domestic spaces around her. The room is an oasis and the items within it are what bring it to life. Rose imagines the dialogue that exists between space and furnishings or objects – chandeliers, lemon squeezers, chairs or a freestanding bath, for instance. She uses decorative motifs, intricate patterns and a vivid palette, to make the everyday important.
