Louise is a London based artist; She enjoyed much success working an illustrator and artist worldwide for many years, before returning to Fine Art full time in 2009.
‘My interest is in the solitude and isolation of remote extreme scenery and attempting to capture the timeless mysterious mercurial nature of the light on the land and the sea.’
Louise’s paintings are predominately large scale, creating texture with the oil before applying many layers of translucent oil glazes. The use of metallic pigment in the under layers catch the light as it changes.
Louise Fairchild’s influences are the remote landscape of Ireland and the Peak District where she grew up. Her work hangs in private collections throughout the UK, the US and Asia.
