Henrietta Abel Smith

Henrietta is a portrait and still life painter based in London. Having trained at Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Henrietta started to mix her portrait work with painting still lifes. She regularly exhibits in group shows and last year she won the young artist award at the Society of Women Artists ( @swainfo ) for the second time. Her work is now in collections around the world. She takes commissions for portraits in oil and charcoal.

‘With my still lifes I aim to create quietly atmospheric paintings using a limited colour palette that lets the subject speak for itself. I particularly love to paint flowers having been greatly inspired by my incredible garden designer Mum; her Cotswold garden is my haven.  I view painting flowers as basically painting their portraits!’
